Show OUTBUILDINGS AND BARNS DESTROYED A disastrous fire occurred Saturday Satur-day evening near the north city limits on Washington avenue, causing a loss of approximately $2500 to the Arcadia Land and Livestock company. The barns and outbuildings on the property, proper-ty, of which Dora B. Topham is princi-pa princi-pa owner, and T. W. Matthawa, manager, man-ager, were virtually destroyed, together togeth-er with much of the furniture taken from the notorious stockade in. Salt Lake City. The furniture was stored in the barn, which was a two-story structure. struc-ture. The fire is said to have started in a chicken coop, but the Japanese caretakers care-takers could give no positive clue as to its origin. The Ogden flre department depart-ment answered an. alarm call and went to the scene, but a stronger wind and the difficulty of getting water to the place, prevented the saving of the frame builders. |
