Show If LET YOUR I ; LIGHT SHINE I-W BY LUCILLE DAUDET. Aral ?.?IN? .on the sunny s,d of l H life brings the glow and 1J warmth of happiness not only to ourselves but to all those $ around us. We radiate the inner Bun- B ; shine, the influence of which Is far ; more powerful than the visible sun's : ; rays. We bring light into the dark- 5 ness of other lives. All this we can do ' ; by learning to look on the sunny side J i of life, by learning to shut thedark- ness out of our minds. Every one of us feels at times the j stress of trouble and sorrow. But if . -, we bring the sunshine of life to bear - : on the darkness in our hearts the ' B : shadows will all vanish. After all. sor- ' row. trouble, happiness, cheer, all are ' : mental. The physical side of us can B feel no pleasure of grief. Our bodies 1 are not happy or sad, as the ca.se may be. It is our minds which experience ' i the changing sensations. Then let us take control of thoso 1 f minds, which have the power to ren- I der us miserable or joyful. Let us ; gradually teach our minds to hold only the thoughts of brightness and : cheer. Let us keep strict watch over ; the thoughts admitted there. Wben , , the ideas of sorrow or trouble occur, '! ' let us shut them out. ? : At first the watch will be hard, for ' troublous thoughts will often strugglo for admittance. But by resolutely ; 1 turning the mind toward the sunshine, I and away from these dark thoughts we I can shut them out. After a time fpwer W and fewer grievous ideas will seek ad-I ad-I m m5ttance' as wc learn to accept the U light and happiness of life as right and M natural, and to look upon darkness as M unnatural and unnecessary. J Wben wo first begin to "look oQ the sunny side of life our eyes will be daz- K zled by the brightness. One who has B long been in darkness can scarcely J : stand the warm glare of sunshine. But after we grow accustomed to the : ' brightness, when we have learned to I walk In the light, we will be unable to : see at all in the darkness. |
