Show uu Society I ' ! MEET ON WEDNESDAY. Promoters of the League of Sacred Heart will meet with Mrs. Mary Ferris, Fer-ris, Wednesday, January 26, at the Virginia. LEAP YEAR CARD CLUB. Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Richardson entertained en-tertained the Leap Year Card club last evening at their home 2201 Grant avenue. Several games of 500 were enjoyed followed by service of a delicious luncheon. The parlor and dining room were prettily decorated with pink carnations carna-tions and potted plants. Covers were laid for the following: Dr. and Mrs. A. S. Condon, Dr. and Mrs. William G. Frelday, Mr. and Mrs. John A. Munson, Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Hendershot, Dr. and Mrs. E. M. Conroy, Mr. and Mrs. I. H. Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Edward BIchsel. The card club is established for the year and the next meeting will be held with Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bich-sel, Bich-sel, Thursday, January 27. BIRTHDAY EVENT. Mrs. William Taylor, 744 Ogden avenue ave-nue gave a birthday party, January 21 in compliment to Master Glen Taylor, Tay-lor, it being his ninth birthlay. The evening was spent in games and a delicious luncheon was served in the dining room. The centerpiece was a birthday cake made to resemble a large pink rose and decorated with candleH. Those present were. Misses Jane Taylor, Lucille Taylor, Dorothy Cortez, Lavon Wood, Emma Ranson and Rosa Taylor. Masters John and Herbert Verheek, Reed Taylor, Wm. Taylor and Glen Taylor. Mrs. Clara Vance and Phyllis Morris assisted Mrs. Taylor In serving. The guests departed having voted Master Glon a capable, host. 500 CLUB. Mrs. H. H. Spencer was hostess to members of the 600 club Thursday afternoon of this week. Several games were enjoyed and the hostess served luncheon, ENTERTAIN CLASS AND TEACHERS. Miss Margaret Inabnlt and Miss Edna Ed-na Halvorson entertained the 6-"B" class of the Qulncy school, and their teacher, Mr8. Earl Thompson, at the Innbnlt home on Quincy avenue, Friday Fri-day evening. The event wns to celebrate the fact that three of their members were successful suc-cessful contestants in the recent Utah Products' contest; also a farewell as the class enters the sub high school on Monday. Miss Lucile Pyper of Salt Lake furnished music for the evening. eve-ning. CHRISTIAN CHURCH AID SOCIETY Mrs. Archibald assisted by Mrs. Gregory, entertained the Christian Church Aid society at her home, 2530 Monroe avenue, Wednesday afternoon. A business session was held and matters mat-ters of importance discussed, after which delicious refreshments were served and enjoyed by all. The meeting meet-ing adjourned to meet with Mrs. King, 759 Twenty-third street, February Febru-ary 16. FORMER OGDENITE VISITED HERE. C. H. Bogart of Carlin, New, spent the first of the week In Ogden with friends. Mr. and Mrs. Bogart formerly for-merly lived in Ogden. VISITED PARENTS. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Seale of Po-catcllo Po-catcllo were Ogden visitors recently, the guests of Mrs. Seale's parents, Mr and Mrs. Maytor J. Hcaly, 114 Twenty-seventh street for a few hours. They were en route home after a pleasant trip to Oklahoma and Mississippi. Mis-sissippi. Mr. Seale is trainman of the Idaho division out of Pocatello and both he and Mrs. Seale report a pleasant trip. LADIES' AID SOCIETY. The Ladles' Aid Society of the First Methodist Episcopal Church met Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. W. W. Gillies. Assisting her as hostesses were Mrs. J. J. Malone, Mrs. O. J. Stilwell, Mrs. J. W Peters. The home was beautifully decorated with carnations, and the parlors were crowded with guests. Several recitations recita-tions were given by Mrs. Gertrude Carr, and the Rev. G. P. Rassweiler. The hostesses served delicious refreshments re-freshments and a social time was enjoyed en-joyed by all. nn |
