Show uu AMERICAN SLAIN BY TWO MEXICANS j El Paso, Tex., Jan. 22. Bernardo Duran, a Mexican, was placed in jail in Juarez early today after having been charged with killing an American. Ameri-can. He is said to have confessed. Reports that an American rancher had been killed reached the "United Slates consul in Juarez late last night. It was said that the crime had been committed by cattle thieves Two ranchers, J. B. Akers and Douglas Downs, had crossed the Rio Grande at Ysleta, twelve miles east of here, in the morning to recover stolen cattle. cat-tle. The Juarez judge of letters immediately immed-iately left in an automobile for the scene of the murder, where it is said the body still lies. The body will be brought to Juarez. Two ranchers who reached the city tonight reported that Akers was said to have 'been the man killed.
