OCR Text	Show JOSEPH GIDEON WITH YANKEES Former Salt Lake Team's Second Sec-ond Baseman Purchased by N. Y. American Club. New York, Jan. 21. The New York American league baseball club obtained obtain-ed three more Federal league players by purchase today. The star of the trio is Nick Cullop, formerly the leading lead-ing Pitcher of the TCanRns r.itv nlnh i who ranked fourth in the Federal league twirling averages at tho end of the 1915 season. The other two players are Joe Gedeon, who signed with the New York Federals after the close of the last playing season, and Herman (Germany) Schaefer. Gedeon, a hard hitting second baseman, base-man, played with the Salt Lake City team last summer, having a batting aA erage of .317 and a fielding average of .932. The club also released three players. play-ers. Pitchers Brown and Ring going to the Louisville club, and Outfielder Daley to the Vernon club of the Coast league.
