Following Fol-lowing the announcement that no speculative dealings would bo permitted permit-ted In metals used for making munitions, mu-nitions, the members of the London Metal Exchango today decided to suspend sus-pend all dealings with tho exception of those In tin, pending the report of a deportation which will interview tho minister of munitions tomorrow. Dealings in the Glasgow pig iron BBBaaBBaBBaBMgBBBBeaaanDBDMHaBi mcrket also have been suspended. Market Suspenalon Expected. New York, March 2 John D. Ryan president of the Anaconda Copper Mining company, issued a statement today saying that tho suspension by tho London Metal Exchange of trad" ing in all metals except tin, occasion ed no surprise. Mr. Ryan declared that bids of mosl of the prominent producing compa nies indicated that the London mar ket, so far as copper, lead and zinc quptations were concerned, have been fictitious ever since the war began chiefly because of the embargo placed by the British government on exports of metal from Great Britain. |
