Show GERMAN GIVEN LONG SENTENCE Court Martial Imposes Penalty for Living in Paris Under Assumed Name. Paris, Jan. 18, 4:55 a. m. Max Rels-sner, Rels-sner, a German, was "sentonced by a court martial in Paris yesterday to serve five years In prison and pay a flno of 5,00 francs. The charge was that he resided within the entrenched camp of Paris under a falso name. I Had False Certificate. '. According to the evidence Relssner i went to the American consulate upon . tho outbreak of tho war and by false declarations obtained a certificate of American nationality in the name of George Stoddart. On the strength of thiB certificate the police issued a residential permit last August. Reissner is said to have gone to the American consul-general at Pornlc, where tho American official was spending his vacation, and to have confessed his deception, at the same time asking for financial assistance. The consul-general reported the case to the French authorities. |
