Ii I Mr. and Mrs. Temple Short o Og- den celebrated their golden wedding, :- January 10, 1916, at their home, 517 5 Third street. Mr. Temple Short was ! i torn in Tiog county, Pa.f July 25, g .' 1S41. He enlisted in the Civil war S 1861, and served three years. After i v the war, 1865, he came to Utah, and I j i settled in Ogden valley, Weber coun- vi I ty. He married Margaret Fisher, Jan- ) uaiy 10, 1866. She was born Decem- : f ber 8, 184S, Farmana county, Ireland, - ' and crossed the waters in 1856. She ji - lived In Iowa six years. Then she J l crossed the plains with -ox team in I 1862. She arrived in Salt Lake City, 3 moving to Ogden valley, "Weber coun- ' ty and has lived in Weber county I fifiy-four years. I ' They are both members of the I Mormon church. ) - Mr. and Mrs. Temple Short have i four generations living. They have , i. had nine children born to them of j -which only three are living, Ruben Li. I r r and Ira T. Short of Far West and Mrs. Camuel H. Burt of Five Points. They have fourteen grandchildren, and five greatgrandchildren, who were all present at the celebration. The home was very prettily decorated deco-rated in golden colors. A delicious supper was served. The beautiful gold presents were presented by Samuel Sam-uel H. Burt while the fifty yellow candles can-dles were burning on the wedding cake. The remainder of the evening was spent in games, music and songs. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Temple Short, Mr. and Mrs. Ruben L Short, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel H. Burt, Mr. and Mrs. Ira T. Short, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Packham, Mr. and Mrs. William Briggs, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Brjggs, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Myers, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Campbell, Jlr. and Mrs. Tin! Chatlain, Mrs. Shurtliff, Miss Ora Short, David Hawks, Miss Laura Short, Miss Annie Penrod, Miss Margaret and Geneva Short, and Mr. Albert and Ralph Burt. |
