Show BERLIN DENIES FRENCH STORY Dubs Statement of Alleged German Atrocities as Series of Slanders. Amsterdam, Jan. 12, via London, 12 noon - There has been received here from Berlin an officially inspired telegram tele-gram which repudiates all the a cus.i-tions cus.i-tions against the troops of Germany, made in the report of a French committee com-mittee which investigated certain alleged al-leged atrocities. This report, given out to the public January 7 bj the-French the-French cabinet, charged the Germans with many outrages. The dispatch from Berlin says. "This French statement is an unbroken un-broken series of slanders with no other intention than to create hatred against the German people ." Continuing it complains that the French report is lacking in detail an I' it declares that German military com-; manders always have maintained discipline dis-cipline among their troops and oh served all the rules of warfare. In conclusion, this dispatch promises that specific charges will be investigated investi-gated and the results made public. |
