Show PACKARD MAY STAY ! ON VARSITY TEAM Salt T,ake. Jan 12. E. Packard, star forward of the University of Utah basketball team, may yet be able to finish the season as a member mem-ber of the team. It was reported from the meeting of the university athletic council yesterday that a recent re-cent ruling of the Rocky Mountain conference declaring Packard ineligible, ineligi-ble, because he was said to have taken ta-ken money to act as coach of the Oneida Stake academy would, in all probability, be changed. It is said that a member of the Agricultural Ag-ricultural college athletie council, through whom, it is said, Packard was declared ineligible, has been given giv-en convincing proof that Packard did not take money as a coach, but, rather, ra-ther, did the work purely for his interest in-terest In the team It is expected the matter will be settled and that Packard will return to the game the latter part of the week The varsity team is preparing for Its Montana trip Manager Manghan said last night that while on the trip the team would probably play two games Id Wyoming |
