Parker as tomporary chairman chair-man of the convention. The Bryan forces sought to prevent, if. possible, any counter moves by tho juge's supporters. Mr. Bryan had scarcely glanced over the morning papers when delegatos and visitors began flocking into his rooms Friends of Parker were Ban-guine. Ban-guine. To avoid any demonstration and a crush in the already crowded hotel corridor, Mr. Bryan and his party par-ty were taken to the basement of the hotel in a private service elevator and then taken to the convention hall in automobiles. It was stated just as the Bryan party par-ty left tha.t there was nothing to say regarding tho temporary chairmanship, chairman-ship, as present plans might undergo a sudden change on the convention floor. |
