Show PAVING WILL BEGIN THIS WEEK The Salt Lake contractor, Pat J. Moran, spent a Bhort time In Ogdon yesterday nftornoon making preparations prepara-tions for tho work of paving and repairing re-pairing some of tho streets of Ogden. He stated that he would have a force of men and teams in the city Wednesday Wednes-day and that no time would bo lost In getting down to work t Mr Moran stated that It would require re-quire only a Bhort time to get his asphalt as-phalt plant on West Twenty-fourth street In working order and that all the material needed In making asphalt pavement is in readiness for the job. Ho also said that ho would be ready to do any part of the work required by the city commissioners, his contract con-tract calling for tho paving of Grant avenue, between Twenty-third and Twonty-fourth streets; the ropalrlng of Twenty-fifth streot from Wall to Wushlngton avenueB and Twenty-fourth Twenty-fourth street from Grant to Washington. Washing-ton. Fowler avenue was also Included in Fowler avenue- wbb Included In tho contract, but it has been temporarily withdrawn and Mr. Moran Bald ho would not Insist on doing the Job there if the commissioners desired to withhold it. , Commissioner J. C. Nje, superintendent superin-tendent of streets and public improvements, improve-ments, stated thlB morning that ho was pleased that Mr Moran is ready to begin work so promptly Ho desired de-sired that tho patching on Twenty-fourth Twenty-fourth and Twenty-fifth streets bo dono first, aB these streois are in bad condition and tho commissioners are anxious to got them hepaired at tho earliest possible lime. He says ho thinks tho othor commissioners will agree with him that such a plant Is desirable. It will cost about J2.000, ho said, and will more than likely pay for its cost In a short tlmo. |
