Show ARM GROUND Of F UNDHA CAR Harvey P Watkins, aged 32 years, "trouble" man for the Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph company, was hurled under a moving street car on North East street, Salt Lake, yesterday yes-terday morning, suffering Injuries that necessitated the amputation of his left arm. Mr. Watkins was riding a motorcycle motor-cycle and was traveling behind a southbound Ashton avenue car, when a passenger.Louls Bechlart, 535 West First South street, stepped from tho car Into the path of the motorcycle. Bechlart was knocked violently to the ground nnd Watkins, unable to control his machine, turned Into tho car and fell beneath the wheels. "Both wheels of the rear truck passed over his arm b6low tho elbow. Tho police were notified and the Injured In-jured man was taken to tho Judge-Mercy Judge-Mercy hospital, where the arm was amputated at once. He Is expected to recovei. Ho lives at 1050 Eighth East street and has a wife and three children. chil-dren. Bechiart escaped with a few minor bruises. He was taken to his homo. |
