B Baron, of the Baron company, Hj went to Salt Lake today to swear to H a complaint charging Harry Boss with H Issuing a fictitious check, the name m written on the check being G. James 1 & Company and the amount being $22. 1 Mr. Baron states that the check waB ' presented to him by Ross in Salt Lake H and that Ross stated at the time that H he was a member of the firm. The H check was returned to the Baron com- H pany by the bank, marked "So ac- H I count." The check was signed in the Baron store at Salt Lake by Ross and I was witnessed by both Mr. and Mrs. Baron. It will be remembered that Harry Ross was tried only a few days ago for forging the name of H. Bateman Hl & Company to a check for $9.75 but, Hl , because the state failed to prove the H place where the check was drawn, R the jury was instructed to render a Hjjl verdict of not guilty. Since that time, Wj however, Roes has been held in jail 1 pending further criminal proceedings H against him. H, County Attorney Jensen says that Rj if the man is not convicted for issu- H lng the fictitious check to Baron, he M will prefer other charges of forgery H against him. It is expected that the H complaint will be filed in the Salt M Lake courts today and that an officer l from that city will be hero tomorrow H to arrest Ross and take him to the B Salt Lake county jail."1 |
