Show M DEED OP A CHRISTIAN WOMAN. B The action of Mrs. S. B. Armour of Kansas City, declining to B prosecute or give out the name of the young woman who stole $150,- B 000 in securities from her and which were subsequently returned H in part, leaving her a loss of about $20,000, furnishes much food for H thought among some of the self-professed Christians of the world. H1 The following statement, which Sirs. Armour issued, shows the true H character of the woman : H "I profoundly regret that so much publicity has been given to H an unfortunate matter connected with my private affairs. I would m have prevented it if I could have done so- The person involved has Hj been trying to make amends for past errors and she and I arc look- H ing forward for her to a life of much usefulness and kindness in Hj the future. She has done much good in the past; she can do much H good in the future. These things should strongly speak for her H now. We should not seek the destruction of, but should save the B; erring." H Tiiis case v) furnish much food for thought for those who are H; inclined to seek the persecution of those who make their first falsa H steps and yet who would probably be made if they were shown the H error of their ways, good citizens. Even in Ogden there have been H such cases prosecuted. |
