Lamberton Woodward of Portland, Ore., today failed to have the United States circuit court dismiss an alienation aliena-tion suit for $50,000 damages brought against her by Mrs. Jean I Mackey Gllddeu of Los Angeles, Cal , and tho case will 'be tried here in October Mrs Glidden alleges that, while sho was visiting her mother in Chicago Chi-cago several years ago, the defendant, a former trained nurse, who had inherited in-herited the estate of a millionaire patient, pa-tient, met her husband, Dr. Putron Glidden, at a California seaside resort, and Induced him to accompany her to Europe and tho Far East Since then, tho complainant soys, tho defendant has married Walter Woodward, a young bank clerk formerly of Rochester. Roches-ter. N Y. Mrs. Woodward bold that the court hero had no jurisdiction because she was a resident of Portland, Ore. This claim was donled today by the federal fed-eral court. |
