Show RACE HORSES TO BE SOLD NEW YORK, Aug. 29. Racing men will watch with keen interest next week the auctioning of S. C. Hildroth's horses, whose disposal calls attention to tbc docllno of racing following tho passage of so much adverse legislation legisla-tion during the last few years. Tho center of attraction at the Hlldroth sale will be Fltz Herbert, and thero Is much speculation as to how largo a prico this remarkable horse will bring. A vear ago Hildreth refused $75,000 for'hlm. He sold him to J. F. Madden once for $10,000, and then bought him back for $15,000. Fitz Herbert's racing career Is practically prac-tically at an end, so that his sole value" Is that of a stallion for breeding purposes. Ityis supposes mat Maddeu will be ono of the bidders. |
