Show INTERNATIONAL PRIZE FIGHT New York Aug. 30. Matt Wolls, the English lightweight champion, h a slight favorite for his match tonight to-night with "Knockout" Brown at Mad-ison Mad-ison Square Garden. Odds today ruled rul-ed 5 to 4. The bout will be the most Important thus far under the new state boxing law, and the nearest approach to a championship battlo here since tho das of the old Horton law. The bout Is distinctly an international interna-tional event, with the two men typifying typify-ing tho styles distinctive of their respective re-spective countries, Brown the slugger and Wells the cautious boxer. The physician who examined both men, in accordance with the requirements require-ments of the now law, has certified that both are in excellent condition and that Wells shows no weakness aa the result of the strain he has undergone under-gone to make the 133-pound weight limit. It Is expected that tho Britou will take on two or three pounds after af-ter the men weigh in at -i o'clock this afternoon. Charley White will referee tho fight which will begin at 10" 30 o'clock. |
