Show "THE TWO BEAVERS." Beaver Copper this week is constructing con-structing three new shoots to take care of ore recently opened in this property, located ten miles northwest north-west from Milford, says the Herald-Republican. Herald-Republican. The ore in all three places ranges from 5 to 10 per cent copper with some values in silver. This is the report General Manager Louis Merriman brought in yesterday. yester-day. He says that the neighboring Beaver Lake Metals is also breaking some ore, and the two will be ready to ship in a very short time. Speaking of developments at the Beaver Copper, Mr. Merriman said that the main shaft followed ore to the 35 level. Here the ore pitched out of the shaft. The work was continued on down to the 100. Here a drift out seventy feet to the west picked up the ore. Last Sunday this face showed 2 feet of 10 per cent copper ore. This gives 150 feet of backs. A cross-cut to the south opened four feet of ore, half of which carries 5 to 8 per cent. Further west there is the same character of ore. The Beaver Copper has four parallel ore-bearing veins. About twenty-two feet east of the shaft four feet or 5 to 8 per cent ore has been opened lately. It is expected to do considerable con-siderable shipping from these four faces. The Beaver Lake Metals is working work-ing in two places. There is an incline in-cline down seventy feet, showing ore all the way. Forty tons extracted sampled 50 per cent lead and 19 ounces silver. It shows three feet of ore at the bottom. The main shaft has been sunk to the 15 0 level, from which a drift is making to tap the other vein at considerable depth. The drift has about seventy-five feet to go. Mr. Merriman is also looking after the work at the Old Crater, across the valley east on Mineral mountain. Here a shaft was sunk on a promising promis-ing shoot of copper ore. A drift from the 100 level will soon crosscut the ore at depth. |
