Show PROGRESSIVES HOLD CONVENTION FUSE With DEMOCRATS. GET FOUR OK COVXTY OFFICES. Not to be left in the shade by the democrats and Republicans, both of vbich parties held their conventions, in Milford, the Progressives of Beaver Bea-ver county assembled in the Hotel Atkin, Monday, 2 p. in., to nominate a county ticket. Wm. Hurst of Beaver, Bea-ver, was choseu chairman, and Mrs. Electra Dorrity of Beaver, secretary. Appointment of the usual committees and reports of the same, occupied the greater portion of the first hoi. A report of the joint committee, on fusion with the Democrats, presented its report.' urging a fusion of the .wo parties and allowing t.lvj .progressives .pro-gressives to select a Sheriff, Recorder, Surveyor ano Attorney. Cjnsider-able Cjnsider-able discussion wTas had on the propo-biiion, propo-biiion, but th ? report was finally adopted. Nominations for the offices apportioned to the Progressives, were nade as follows: Sheriff, i.. Fotheringham of Beaver; Attorney, Russell Parsons of Beaver Bottoms; Recorder, Electra Dorrity, (incumbent); (incum-bent); Surveyor, Wm. Hurst, (incumbent). (in-cumbent). Other routine work was transacted and a platform adopted. At the close of the convention, the delegates, on invitation of the Democrats, Dem-ocrats, visited the convention of the latter, held in the opera house. |
