Apple in Hash. One apple, coarsely chopped, is a surprisingly agreeable addition to meat or fish hash. The flavor can be further improved by frying it in bacon fat. To Clean a Galvanized Pail. Galvanized pails and tubs may be cleaned quickly and perfectly by being scrubbed with kerosene oil, then washed with hot soapsuds. Save the Celery Tops. Save the celery tops and bits of "wilted parsley and dry them in the oven when it is being user! for other purposes. Greasing the Pudding Mold. Coat the pudding molds with caramel car-amel rather than fat. Make a heavy caramel syrup and pour all round the sides, letting it harden before putting in the dough. The pudding will slip out as easily while hot as though fat were used, while the caramel car-amel will lend both a nice color and a delicate flavor to the pudding. To Clean Paneling. Much paneling and grooved work makes a kitchen difficult to clean, but a brush is an excellent assistant. If you fear scratching the finish, cover the bristles with two or three layers of cloth. The brush will still prove yielding enough to reach into every corner and crevice. Mrs. Anna B.
