Show Cardon LaMoyne Jones dies f in Monticello services held ' Funeral services were conducted con-ducted November 6 at Blanding for Cardon LaMoyne Jones, who died November 3 at the San Juan Hospital in Monticello, following a serious illness. LaMoyne was born January 25, 1937 to Cardon and Hattie Guy mon Jones, the second of five children. In 1957 he was called to serve an LDS mission in northern California, where he worked closely with Pres. J. Leonard Love and became well acquainted with many of the General Authorities through his work in the mission home. In 1961 he married Nellene Parry of Cedar City. They were married in the St. George Temple, September 22, and have made their home in Blanding since. LaMoyne worked as a deputy assessor for the county, and for 15 years at the First Security Bank, until failing eyesight forced him to retire in July 1975. He also served a four-year term as city councilman and had served as secretary of the Blanding Cemetery District since 1964. A member of the LDS church, LaMoyne had served as Sunday School teacher, Explorer leader, Deacon's advisor, priesthood quorum teacher, counselor in YMMIA and financial clerk. He served a Stake mission and was a High Prist at the time of his death. Both he and Nellene received their Golden Gleaner and Master M-Man Awards at the same time. He is survived by his wife, Nellene; his children, Lisa, LaNell, Holly, Heidi, and Dee, his father and mother, brother, Nelson, of Tollison, Arizona, sisters, Betty Ann Stevens of Tempe, Arizona, and Donna of Blanding. Mrs. Jones is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Parry of Cedar City. |
