Cedar City Police Chief Doug Boulton and Iron County Sheriff Ira Schoppmann gather data for presentation in Mock Trial to be staged at Cedar High School. Vandalism evidence was set up Monday for investigative purposes and will be presented at trial scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 1. Mock Trial to be held at CHS A mock vandalism trackdown and trial was held Monday to give students of Cedar High School a better understanding of court functions, law, and law enforcement activities dealing with this growing problem. The mock day of events included in-cluded the reporting of the crime by Cedar residents and the collection of clues by local police authorities. A search warrant and warrant of arrest were also obtained from the city attorney to show the cooperation between the different agencies of government. I The mock trial for the case is set for December 1 at 9:45 at the Cedar High Auditorium. Judge Christian Ronnow will preside at the trial with Joseph Jackson and Jim Shumate as opposing attorneys. at-torneys. Sponsored by the coordinating council at the high school, the event will hopefully deter vandalism van-dalism and other mischief crimes which students may get involved with. |
