Show Melvin Zay Tait dies in Milford Hospital Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 20 in the Milford First Ward Chapel for Melvin Zay Tait, 46, who died Nov. 15 at the Milford Hospital. He was born Sept. 23, 1930 in Enterprise to George Huntsman and Laura S. Staheli Tait. He married Verda Leavitt, Aug. 1, 1949, in Gunlock. They moved to Milford in 1959. He was employed with the Milford Police Department for four years and served three years as a Beaver County Deputy Sheriff. He was Sheriff of Beaver County for eight years. He also owned and operated Beaver County Cleaners for 16 years and was an honorary member of the Beaver County Jeep Patrol. Survivors include his wife, Verda; Milford; two sons and a daughter. Douglas Melvin, Cedar City; Garland, serving an LDS mission in Bolivia, South America; Mrs. Wayne (Karen) Patterson, Beaver. f Other survivors include two grandchildren, a brother and four sisters. Burial was in the Milford City Cemetery under the direction of the Metcalf-Campbell Mortuary. |
