Show JAMBOREE. Love and caring. They go together. Won't you please come and join our Rock 'n Roll Jamboree. This is a drive for the Heart Association in its fight against heart disease. The event, being planned here, will take place at the Iron County Nursing Home February 14. Events are being planned from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 to 4 p.m. They will include games, a bake sale, rocking - in rocking chairs, rolling - in wheel chairs. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy this special fund raising event. Donations will be accepted for the Heart Association. Home Residents aid Heart Assn. Residents of Utah Nursing Homes will "Rock and Roll" February 14 - 17 to raise money for the Utah Heart Association. The third annual "Rock 'N' Roll Jamboree" is sponsored by the Utah Health Care Association, which consists of most licensed convalescent centers in the state. Participating residents wil rock in rocking chairs and roll in wheel chairs. Robert G. Conely, chairman of the association's public affairs committee, said young people and adult volunteers are needed to solicit donations and pledges based on the time or distance participants can rock, roll, or in some cases walk. Conley said the event will encourage nursing home residents to exercise and interact with other patients and the general public. Some of the more than 62 nursing homes participating will feature live music, movies, games and Buffet luncheons. |
