Show C of C outline Major Goals PAROWAN - Parowan area Chamber of Commerce met on Thursday of last week and with the business men and women and others who attended a discussion was held on goals of the Chamber for the year 1979. Chamber of Commerce President Rodney Adams has outlined the major goals for us. He stated that one of the major goals will be to move forward rapidly on the medical clinic to be built in Parowan. Ground breaking ceremonies have been tentiatively set for May 28, 1979. Another goal set by the Chamber is to obtain lighting for the Parowan South Interchange. This area is now completely dark and the Chamber considers it to be not only inconvenient but very dangerous. The third goal outlined by Mr. Adams is the planning for an industrial park and seeking quality industry for this area. The Chamber is looking into the availability of grant monies etc. to help with this plan. They also have a strong desire to foster new businesses in town, with . the rapid growth now taking place, new businesses are needed. Goal number five is to try ' to arrange to have the road to the Parowan Gap paved, this road is heavily traveled in the summer, and more tourists would be able to enjoy the petrogliphics and scenery there with a paved road. The final goal listed was to make designated runs for snowmobiles in this area, those designated by parks and recreation officials would be maintained by them with funds obtained by Snowmobile fees. Mr. Adams is being assisted by. vice president Will Hillis, and board members Frosty Mitchell, Chuck Harris, Saunderws Clark, Ivan Robb and i treasurer Dee Robinson. |
