Show Gymnastic Team host 3-team Meet Southern Utah State College's women's gymnastics gym-nastics team will host a three-team meet Saturday in the college's physical education complex. The meet will start at 10:30 a.m. and will be free. The public is welcome to come and watch this sport which is only in its third season at SUSC. Competing will be Western State, Adams State and SUSC. "We will improve with each meet," Kathryn Berg, SUSC coach said. "We have some pretty good talent and experience will help them to develop confidence in their routines." Expected to compete for SUSC will be G'Ne McEldowney, a junior from Mecosta, Michigan; Mary Damiani, sophomore from Chicago; Debbie Sherwood, senior from Naperville, Illinois; Debbie Johnson, freshman from Pahrump, Nevada ; Leslie Edwards, freshman from Las Vegas; and Janet Howell, freshman from West Jordan. Last week, the T-Birds competed in a four-team meet at Western State. Adams State (108 points) won that meet. Following in order were Southern Colorado (106-, Western State (96), and SUSC (74). Howell was the only T-Bird T-Bird to place. She finished second in the balance beam; fourth in the parallel bars, and fourth in the all-around. |
