We have requests for special holiday salads, punches, baked goods, and candies. Please share! We'd like to run a lot of recipes for these lucious goodies in the next two months. Please send recipes and requests to me at 116 N. 200 E or call 586-6759. 586-6759. Even though its too late for pumpkin-shaped cookies I'd like to share a recipe for a type of Sugar Cookie and icing that's a little different. The cookies aren't as hard and the icing is so easy to spread on either cookies or cake. I got this recipe from my sister, Joyce Alsup in Beaver; but I still can't make them as good as she can. BUTTKR COOKIKS 14 cup sugar 1 large cup butter (or margerine) scant tsp. salt 4 eggs 1 tsp. soda in a little water Cream above ingredients thoroughly before adding the following: l- cup sweet milk 4 cups flour (sifted 3 or 4 times) 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. vanilla and lemon extract Mix all ingredients. Chill and roll out. Cut in desired shapes. Bake for 10 minutes at 350-375 degrees. Frosting 2 cups powdered sugar ''a cup shortening ','4 cup flour dash of salt 1 tsp. vanilla any color food coloring desired Mix with egg beater (may need to add a little water). |
