Show OES Grand Lecturer makes official visit to Chapter 20 Mrs. Willmetta S. Smith, Provo, Grand Lecturer of the Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star of Utah, made her official visit to Cedar Chapter No. 20 Saturday, March 11, at the Masonic Temple. The meeting was presided over by Ethel Stark, Worthy Matron and Alvin Wright, Worthy Patron. Conductress Gaye Thurston introduced and escorted the following: Mrs. Smith, Grand Lecturer; Gustin O. Gooding, Worthy Grand Patron; Gerald-ine Gerald-ine Gooding, Grand Warder; Naomi P. Hoskins, Grand Secretary Emertius of the Grand Chapter; Leroy W. Smith, husband of the Grand Lecturer; Grand Representatives, Representa-tives, Marie T. Bunnell, Marie L. Endsley of Cedar Chapter, and Arlene L. Gray, Bethsaida Chapter No. 22, Bountiful, Utah. All were extended a gracious welcome by the worthy matron. Following the introductions, the work of the order was exemplified. ex-emplified. Initiated into the Chapter was Mr. Billey Wilk-ins. Wilk-ins. Mrs. Smith's message to the Chapter was on Attitudes, and working together in the chapter. A gift from the Chapter Chap-ter was presented to her by the Associate matron,' Candace L. Ewing, and a personal one from the worthy matron. Refreshments were served following the meeting by Ethel Eth-el Smith, Earl and Lucille Bunn. Refreshment tables were decorated in the St. Patrick's Pat-rick's theme. Preeeeding the evening meeting, a no host luncheon honoring Mrs. Smith, was held in the dining room of the Sugar Su-gar Loaf Cafe. Nineteen members mem-bers attended the luncheon. This was followed by an afternoon af-ternoon of instructions at the Masonic Temple. |
