Show Walking candid to hit Cedar Saturday Wayne Owens, announced Democratic candidate, for the United States Congress from the Second Congressional District Dis-trict will be in Cedar City Sat-u Sat-u relay at noon on his "Walk through the District." The walk began at Bicknell and will take him through each of the counties making up the Second Congressional District. On his arrival in Cedar Ce-dar City he will have covered 269 miles. The congressional hopeful plans a three day stop in Cedar Ce-dar City. Arriving at noon he will be guest of honor at a Pot Luck dinner at the Lions Pavilion on the City Park that evening. No activities or walk will be included in Sunday's schedule. Monday Owens will tour the iron mines west of Cedar City, will canvas the downtown down-town area Tuesday and Wednesday Wed-nesday he hopes to meet with high school and college groups. "Politicians do too much talking." Owen asserts. "On my walk I am listening and learning of the feelings and attitudes of the constituants within the district. I"m taking these two months on my walk to do the listening," he said. Incorporated in the walk was a 28 mile stint for the March of DLmes in addition to hi campaign walk, he indicated. |
