Show FFA delegation goes to State convention inSLG KENNETH BENTLEY Chapter Reporter Six members of the Parowan Paro-wan High chapter of Future Farmers of America traveled to Salt Lake City today, Thursday, Thurs-day, March 23 where they will attend the 44th annual State FFA convention. Attending will be Tony Dalton, Russell Abbott, David Robinson, Eric Bayles, David Judd and Peter Curley, Also going to the convention con-vention was Miss Kathy Robinson, Rob-inson, who will represent the chapter in the FFA Sweetheart Sweet-heart contest, a part of the program. The theme for this year's convention is "Youth With a Purpose". The convention will be held in the Terrace Ballroom, Ball-room, and will run from today, to-day, Mar. 23 through Mar. 25. The first general session will be held at 2 p. m. Friday and the second session being at 6:30 p. m. During this session the various awards and scholarships schol-arships will be made. On Saturday, the third session ses-sion begins at 9:30 a. m. and the fourth at 1:30 p. m. On Saturday at 6:30 p. m. will be the Sweetheart Banquet. At this time the state FFA Sweetheart Sweet-heart competition will be held with the winner to be announced. an-nounced. The state FFA officers have planned a very good three-day program for this year, and it should be very rewarding as well as entertaining for those who attend. More than $2000 in cash awards and more than $9,000 in scholarships will be given out to FFA members for their achievements in various areas of agriculture, and officers to lead the organization in the coming year will be elected. |
