Show Region confab to draw 1000 youth Nearly 1000 youths of southern south-ern Utah area are expected to gather Saturday and Sunday Sun-day on the Southern Utah College Col-lege campus for. a Regional Youth Conference, sponsored 'by the Cedar Stake of the LDS Church. Participating youths will be drawn from Beaver, Cedar, Cedar Ce-dar West, Garfield, Panguitch and Parowan Stakes. Marvin J. Ashton, member of the Council of the Twelve of I I Mr. Black will address a special spec-ial Priesthood session for the young men Sunday morning and the young women will be addressed at that time by Mrs. Ashton. "The, Free Agency," concert will be held Saturday evening at 7 p.m. at the Auditorium and that will be followed by a dance With music provided by the "Free Agency" in the SUSC Ballroom. Those in charge of the two-lay two-lay conference point out that only those registered through . their individual wards will be 1 Invited to participate. The final session of the conference con-ference will be at 9:45 a.m. Sunday at which time a Test-'mony Test-'mony Meeting will be held in the Auditorium. In addition to the general sessions, concert, dance, forums for-ums and priesthood and young women's special programs facilities fa-cilities at the College will be open to the youths. Recreational time has been planned and facilities of the athletic department including the swimming pool will be available. Many of the participants Will be housed in homes in Cedar City Saturday night In order to attend all sessions of the conference. LEE OSTLER Youth Chairman of the Youth Conference the LDS Church, his wife Norma Nor-ma and Donald Joseph Black, member of the Church Education Educa-tion System, will be the principal prin-cipal guest speakers at the two day conference. Special entertainment, how ever, will be provided by a group known as "The Free Agency." . Theme for the conference is "Now is the Time to Prepare," according to Lee Ostler of Cedar Ce-dar City who is the youth chairman for the conference. 'Registration Will get underway under-way Saturday morning at 8 a.m. at the SUSC auditorium, confab will be at 9 a.m. followed fol-lowed by a series of special First general session of the forum discussion. ' Forums will be held at various var-ious Intervals on "Dates and Debates," "To Improve Oneself," One-self," and "To Choose Goals and Friends." Mr. and Mrs. Ashton and Mr. Black will all address the group at the opening session. In addition Mr. Ashton and |
