Show NEWS FROM SUMMIT by Donna Davenport The Relief Society spring social was held at the church Tuesday, May 23 in connection with the Cultural Refinement lesson, given by Sylva Stapley A delicious luncheon was prepared pre-pared and served by the Relief Society Presidency on tables decorated to represent the months of the year and the ladies were seated according to their birthdays. President Shirley White, with Mary Lawrence, Paualine Hulet and Margie Allton were responsible responsi-ble for the lovely social. Five young people from here were among the Parowan High School graduates and all excelled ex-celled in their studies. Several were given fine scholarships and awards. Mark Dalley, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Frank Dalley served as studentbody president and gave one of the addresses at the graduation exercises. Keith Lawrence, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alma Lawrence was the other speaker and both young men were honor students. stu-dents. Keith served as yearbook year-book editor and was active in speech and drama circles and was given the National Merit award. Diane Hulet daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carlisle Hulet, served serv-ed as secretary of the student body last year and was given the Womanhood Award this year among many honors that she received. She also gave one of the prayers at the graduation. grad-uation. Richard Evans son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Evans and Den- ( nis Farrow son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Farrow were the other graduates. Dennis joined the Navy recently and left Monday for San Diego, to begin be-gin his training for the Sea Bees. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hartshorn Hart-shorn and family are here from Mesa, Ariz, to spend the summer. The Indian Placement Students, Stu-dents, Dorothy Begaye, foster daughter of Bishop and Mrs. Delos Dalton, Ethel Etsitty, foster daughter of Mr. and Walker's and Raymond Farrows. Far-rows. Mrs. Francis Corder of Las Vegas, Nev. spent several days here with her folks the Raymond Ray-mond Farrow's and attended Dennis' graduation. Mr. and Mrs. Norton B. Mr. and Mrs. Dee El Stapley and family enjoyed a two days visit from Mrs. Stapley's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Merlin BHI3 of Murray. . Monday. Mrs. Stapley welcomed wel-comed her sister and family Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Timothy, who are moving from Phoenix to Salt Lake City. -Two of the children remained here for a longer visit. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Skou-gard Skou-gard and three sons of Salt Lake City visited here last week with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Whicker and family. The Fred Whioker's spent three days in Fillmore last week with their folks Mr. and Mrs. Henry Whicker. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Robinson Robin-son of Ogden visited here last Friday with the Jay Davenports. Kenneth Rowley is in Salt Lake City attending a three weeks schooling in connection connec-tion with his work. Miss Holly Dalton and Ann Hollinger were in Circleville from Friday until Wednesday t0 visit with their grandparents, grandpar-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Dalton. The Domlnick Salamonies were here last week from California to visit with Mr. & Mrs. Bill Divers. Mrs. Hyrum Humphreys and Ralph Curley foster son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dalley, returned return-ed to their homes in Arizona and New Mexico last week. Wilford Lawrence enjoyed having most of his family here over the weekend for a family reunion. It was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alma Lawrence on Saturday. Dr. and Mrs. Aubrey Lawrence and daughter Barbara Jean were here from Gunnison. Colo., two other daughters. Carol Ann was here from Salt Lake City and Kathy, her husband Dennis Den-nis Carter and baby Lynda were here from Orem. Mr. and Mrs. Max Rees and son Ronnie Larry and Dana were here from Kaysville and Mr. and Mrs. Rex Lawren and children child-ren camo from E'-calante and were loined by Mr. and Mrs. Jack Farrow and family members mem-bers here. Many relatives and friends were in Parowan Friday to attend at-tend funeral services for Rod-, nev Benson. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas For-rnw. For-rnw. Kendall and Lori of Idaho Ida-ho Falls, Idaho, were here from Thursday until Saturday to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Walker and to attend the funeral.
