Show Committee sets up full observance for Nation's Independance Day Mrs. Beverly Taylor has again been named by Paro-wan Paro-wan City to serve as chairman chair-man of a committee to prepare for the observance of the Independence In-dependence Day, July 4. She has been authorized to name her committee, and to arrange for the big event. The committee is planning for the usual morning entertainment, enter-tainment, to begin with a daybreak salute, with a parade par-ade at 9:30 a. m., sports at a. m. and a public patriotic meeting at 11. Mrs. Taylor states that the parade will be under her direction, di-rection, that the Chamber of Commerce will have charge of arranging for the sports activities ac-tivities for old and young alike. The local American Legion Le-gion Post and Auxiliary will have charge of the public meeting program. The sports events will take place on the city park, and the public meeting will be held in the Third Ward chapel, cha-pel, we understand. The chairman makes an ur-. gent plea to all b usiness firms, of the city, the various civic clubs and church groups to build floats for entry in the parade. As a special feature of the early morning, the Parowan First Ward will serve breakfast break-fast on the lawn east of their . . chapel, and urge all residents ' to take advantage of it says Bishop Stephen Adams. The entertainment for the afternoon will be adequately taken care of by the annual July 4 amateur rodeo and race meet, sponsored by the Red Hill Wranglers. It will feature a full afternoon of horse racing, rac-ing, rodeo and equestrian games at the city race track. The entertainment for the evening will feature the big fireworks display, sponsored by the Parowan Firemen's-Club. Firemen's-Club. It will be held at the race track also, and Rodney Adams chairman of the show states that the fireworks have been on order for several weeks and promises to be a j really big show. |
