Show Bryce Canyon trail rids enjoyed by District 9 riders Saturday, June 10 37 riders from the District Nine riding clubs met at Bryce Canyon for a trail ride, says Mary Gae Exvans of the Red Hill Wranglers. Wran-glers. The riders were led by a Park Ranger from the area on an eight-mile trek down into the canyon. The scenery was spectacular, the beauties of the rock formations and the giant old ponderosa pines can really be seen best and enjoyed en-joyed on these trails on horseback.. horse-back.. The ride took about three and one-half hours, says Mary Gae, winding down into the bottom of the canyon and then back up out the other side. At the end of the ride the Panguitch club members were hosts for a delicious mutton dinner. The mutton was served, serv-ed, with Dutch oven potatoes, hot bread, salads, both kinds, and cake. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Allen were the chefs, and the hungry crowd had all they could eat. Wranglers who went on the ride were Dick and Alice Tul-lis, Tul-lis, Norm and Mary Gae Evans,, Ev-ans,, Gary and Gayle Bentley, Roy Whitlock and Woodrow Watson, Charlie and Karin. Boardman from Summit and Jimmie Tul'lis and Gail Parr of Granger, Utah. Enid Whitlock, Whit-lock, LaRue Watson and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Dillon joined the other club members for the dinner. Several members of the Hurricane Hur-ricane riding club were on hand, and riders from the Panguitch, Circleville and Marysvale clubs. Another trail ride for the district has been tentatively planned for July. |
