Show Nominations made for Chamber oi Commerce officers In an initial step to get an active chamber of commerce working in Parowan a meeting was called by the old officers of the organization on Wednesday Wed-nesday of last week at the Iron County Courthouse with between 25 and 30 members attending, it is announced by David M. Orton, who is present pres-ent head of the chamber. At a meeting called the week before a sparse turnout resulted in the call for the last Wednesday meeting with a concerted effort being made to get a more representative coverage of the community's businessmen and others interested in-terested in building the town in attendance. Last Week's well attended meeting resulted, at which time it was proposed that new officers would be elected. After some discussion it was voted that nominations be made for a president, vice president and secretary with voting to take place at another an-other meeting on Wednesday, April 23, At this time an effort will be made to double the attendance at last week's meeting. Nominated to run for presi? dent were David M. Orton and Osmer K. Nielsen, for vice president, Lewis Dalton and Howard Joseph, and for secretary sec-retary Wayne Hermansen, Albert Al-bert Orton and Roger Allen. After the election, those who are named to head the chamber cham-ber will be given the right to name three board members to complete the organization. The April 23 meeting will be held in the courtroom of the county courthouse promptly prompt-ly at 7 p. m. because of the Lions Club show at 8. |
