Show 29th AnEual Art Exhibit jto open Sunday I Tlie 2!)th Annual Cedar City i Ait Exhibit will open Sunday,' April 20 at 2 p. m. The paintings paint-ings will be hung in the South Elementary School where artists ar-tists from eleven states will be represented. Many of these artists are favorites, having exhibited year after year. At A p. m. Sunday, E. F. Sanquinett will lecture on the subject, "Transmittal of Values Val-ues in Art." Mr. Sanquinetti is the director direc-tor of the Utah Museum of Fine Arts at the University of Utah, and in addition to the Lecture, will judge the show and select the purchase awards. The opening tea will follow fol-low and all visitors are invited invit-ed to attend. This year's show will dis-plad dis-plad approximately 100 paintings paint-ings in the various art media. Included for the first time will be drawings and etchings. The aart committee extends aan invitaation to all interest ed resident of Cedar City and the surrounding area. The exhibit ex-hibit will be open 9 a. m. to 10 p. m. week days and 2 p. m. to 10 p. m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Guide service will be available from April 20 to May 4. One of the featured artists to exhibit in the 1909 show will be Lloyd Mitchell, a native na-tive of Arkansas who now resides re-sides In Temple City, Calif. Ho has retired from business busi-ness and settled down to a world of painting. Many of his paintings depict the humorous hum-orous side of life in the West and South. "I've painted everything from people to poodles," he says. His works are represented represent-ed in many private art collections collec-tions and art galleries in the West. Mitchell will exhibit two paintings in the Cedar City Exhibit, including 'The Stray," and "Bulldogging at Window Racks." |
