Show Seminar scheduled in St. George, Cedar on arthritis A Pu'blic Education Seminar Semi-nar dealing with the latest medical and physical therapy treatment for arthritis will be held in Cedar City and St. George, Saturday, March 18. Seminar session In St. George is slated for 9 a.m. until noon at the West Elementary Ele-mentary School. In Cedar City the seminar will be held at the public Library and is slated to begin at 2 p.m. and continue through 5 p.m. Dr. David W. Brown of Cedar City will cover the medical aspects as-pects of the program followed by Marlin Shields, physical Therapist connected with the University of Utah Medical Center and the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. Shields will discuss splinting, bracing, the-rapy the-rapy and demonstrate various Shieldstypes of exercise used in arthritis treatment. In St. George Dr. Clark J. Staheli of St. George will handle han-dle the medical side of the seminar with Mr. Shields to also give his presentation. These seminars are the second sec-ond in a series of programs started this year. According to Mrs. Corallene McKean, Chair, man of the Utah Chapter Arthritis Arth-ritis Foundation's Public Education Edu-cation Committee, the programs pro-grams were Initiated to fill a need for people wanting to know more about the latest methods used in controlling the pain and crippling generally gener-ally suffered by victims of arthritis. The seminars are free to the public and everyone Is encouraged en-couraged to attend. |
