Show League of Women Voters sponsor second meeting on power issue Two weeks ago the League of Women Voters of Cedar City sponsored a public meeting on the subject of municipal power. pow-er. . Tonight, Thursday, at 8 p.m. at the South Elementary School Library, the public is invited to hear the private power point of view discussed by two represntatives of privately pri-vately owned utilities. Earl Hanson, vice president and Division Manager of the Southern Region of California. Pacific Utilities Co., and Lawrence Law-rence C. Poate, Director of Community Services, Utah Power and Light Company, will be guest speakers. Hanson will touch ' on the role of Utah Power and Light supply In this region.. ' In order for citizens to have a well rounded picture of the utilities options open to all citizens, the information learned lear-ned at both meetings is important, im-portant, LVW officers feel. In the near future, the League Lea-gue is planning to publish a booklet of information gathered gath-ered during the complete study which posed the question, ques-tion, "What ls the most economical econ-omical means of supplying power to the residents of Cedar City In the years ahead?" This booklet will be made available avail-able to the public. |
