A request by residents of Dewey Avenue to restrict parking to 30 minutes on a section of the street was re ferred to the City's Safety Committee for recommenda tions. A portion of the street near the Southern Utah State College campus was proposed to be limited on a time basis to avoid .heavy traffic use and confusion particularly as it concerns children from the area who have to pass on or near the campus enroute to .school. Council in other action denied de-nied a request for a water con-, nection by Bud Rosenberg and Wendell Roundy outside the city limits. The pair were advised that the city is restricted re-stricted to supplying water xmnection only within the .imlts of the city. A request for funds to assist as-sist in the construction of a building for the Iron Mission Park and specifically to house the acquired Gronway Parry horse drawn vehicle collection collect-ion wa3 denied in a spirt vote of the Cedar City Council last Thursday evening. Officers of the Iron Mission Park had petitioned the city for $30,000 to assist in the1 construction of a building to serve as a museum for the Iron Mission Park. Mayor Loren A. Whetten indicated that the request wag denied on a split vote of the council, but that other avenues will be sought to assist; as-sist; the Iron Mission Park group in acquisition of faeili-ties faeili-ties for the proposed museum.
