Show ' lilliliSiI'v;' W l$iJ4I GIRLS STATE DELEGATES. Those four girls, members mem-bers of the junior class at Parowan High School, were chosen to attend the 1968 Girls' State in Logan. From left to right they are: Barbara Stones, Sherrie Dalton, Mary Ann Evans and Carol Ann Adams. Four Girls Selected To Attend Utah Girls' State Mrs. Earl Bunn, who is j chairman of the committee to select the delegates to attend I the annual Girls' State this year, announces that the aspirants as-pirants were judged and the i local representatives chosen at a meeting held Monday afternoon after-noon of this week. The girls, with their mothers moth-ers gathered in the Library Lounge where the judging took place and the delegates were named by out-of-town judges, Mrs. Bunn states. The girls who were chosen, all members of the junior class at the Parowan High School, are as follows: Carol Ann Adams, Sherrie Dalton, Dal-ton, Mary Ann Evans and Barbara Stones with Glenda Stanworth as an alternate. Miss Adams is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray H. Adams, Miss Dalton is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warren A. Dalton, Dal-ton, Miss Evans is a daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Evans, Miss Stones is the daughter of Mrs Lila Stones, Paragonah, and Miss Stan-worth Stan-worth is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Stanworth. : Sponsors of the delegates this year are the Parowan Lions Club, -the American Legion Leg-ion and the American Legion I Auxiliary, and the Paragonah Town Board. Girls' State is an annual gathering of girls of the state , ' sponsored by the American ! Legion and its Auxiliary The ! delegates are members of jun-' jun-' ior classes of high schools in the state and attend tTie week of leadership training to help them become leaders of their schools during their senior year. Girls State is held on the campus of Utah State Uni- vesity during the month of June. |
