Show Cedar High Takes Victory Over Hurricane Cedar High School Redmen walked off with an easy 12 to I victory over the Hurricane Tigers Friday afternoon at Hurricane to open their bid for 11th straight crack at the Region Eight baseball title. Wayne Esplin was on the mound in the abbreviated six inning game that was called , owing to the margin of the score. Esplin allowed only one hit In the contest and posted ten strikeouts in garnering the victory. The Redmen capitalized on ten hits to push in 12 runs. Scoring early the Redmen pushed in four runs In the secind inning of play and added ad-ded a pair in the third to take a 6 to 0 lead. Hurricane pushed in their only run in the third frame without the benefit of a hit apd the Redmen put the game away in the sixth inning with six runs. ' The Tigers single run came in the third inning. Esplin gave up a walk, hit a batter to put runners on first and second. Runners advanced on a passed ball and the single score came on a wild pitch. Hurricane threatened again ill the sixth, loading the bases on two walks and an error with out an out. Esplin picked up the first out on a strikeout. strike-out.
