Show h j I NEW PTA OFFICERS at the North Elementary were installed recently. They are, left to right, Laurena Adams, vice president; Shirley Jensen, president and Relva Prisbrey, secretary. North Elementary Installs New PTA Officers Newly elected North Elementary Ele-mentary Parent Teachers Association As-sociation officers were installed instal-led at a recent PTA Board meeting by President Myrtle Bauer. Also honored at the meeting was Delora Hunt who was presented with a past presidents pres-idents pin. Installed for the year '68-69 were Shirley Jensen as president; presi-dent; Laurena Adams, vice president and Belva Prisbrey as secretary-treasurer. The North Elementar PTA has sponsored a number of worthwhile projects during the past year, it was reported. First of the activities was the Annual Back to School Night. A major project was the Washington Day Dinner which was well attended by school patrons. Money from the dinner will be used for a scholarship fund and for new equipment needed at the school. Culminating the years activities ac-tivities was two Lazy Eye Clinics in addition to helping with tuberculoses testing, the showing of films on cancer and also assisting with enrollment en-rollment on the opening day of school. j Other officers and board mem-1 bers serving with Mrs. Bauer i during the year were: Mrs. I Theron Foster, vice president; Mrs. Conrad Clark, secretary; Mrs. Wayne Jones, citizenship; Mrs. Hal Slack, health; Mrs. Kenyon Parry, historian; Mrs. Stanley Shakespeare, hospitality; hospi-tality; Mrs. Alpine Averett, juvenile protection and safety; saf-ety; Mrs. Virgil K. Smith, membership; Mrs. Frank Adams, project; Mrs. Clive Foster, Public relations; Mrs. Gary Smith, PTA magazine; Mrs. Garth Nelson, room representative. rep-resentative. Mrs. Lee Forsyth, principal served as second vice president presi-dent and Marilyn Forthering-ham Forthering-ham and Stanley Shakespeare Shakes-peare were faculty representatives represen-tatives during the past year. |
