Show Grant Harrison Will Present Research Paper in Chicago I V "i A Im V A GHANT V. HARRISON Grant V. Harrison, graduate of Cedar City High School and College of Southern Utah and currently serving as instructor instruct-or at the Los Angeles Institute of Religion, was recently honored hon-ored by being Invited to report re-port on his research at the annual conference of the A-merican A-merican Education Research Association in Chicago. He has previously wad his research paper before the California Education Research Association Associa-tion conference at Berkeley. Mr. Harrison, a doctoral condidate in Educational Product Pro-duct Research at UCLA, developed de-veloped an innovative form of tutoring where the behavior of the tutor is programmed. The tutorial skills utilized in structured struc-tured tutoring, represent, to a great extent, principles of learning which have been 1-dontified 1-dontified primarily with programmed pro-grammed instruction. This educational ed-ucational inovation was developed de-veloped while Mr. Harrison was Working as a summer associate at Systems Development Devel-opment Corporation at Santa Monica, Calif, as part of his university Intern requirements. require-ments. Interest in the new techniques, according to Mr. Harrison, has been widespread particularly among educators and researchers interested in individualized instruction, or in the particular challenge of meeting the needs of disadvantaged disad-vantaged children at the primary pri-mary grade level. |
