The collection given to the two Utah institutions are evaluated at $1700 each. College of Southern Utah is one of two Utah institutions of higher learning to receive important im-portant exhibit items of a geologic geo-logic nature from the family of the late Stephen Ostler, prominent Salt Lake City live-, stockman. Coral and fossil specimens previously thought not to exist ex-ist in Utah have been turned over to the college by Mrs. Mary Ostler, widow of the discoverer dis-coverer of the rare material. Mrs. Ostler has also made an exhibit donation to the University Uni-versity of Utah geology department. de-partment. The CSU exhibit consists of several large limestone slabs covered with foxhorn coils, gastropods, cephalopods, and crinoid stems, according to Laurence C. Cooper, professor of geology at CSU. Other items include weathered-out colonial colon-ial coral heads weighing up to 150 pounds, and smaller articles ar-ticles of primary coral composition compo-sition as well as a variety of fossils suitable for museum display. Prof. Cooper said that the larger articles will be display- ed appropriately on the campus cam-pus in accordance with plans approved by the ' landscape architect.
