Show County Reaches 78.4 Percent of Savings Bond Goal "U. S. Savings Bonds sales in Iron County for October amounted to $7,831," volunteer volun-teer County Bonds Chairman, Francis W. Betenson, Manager, First Security Bank at Cedar City announced here today. "For the ten months of 1967, our county's sales reached a total of $70,591, representing 78.4 per cent of the goal assigned as-signed to our county as part of the state's quota of $26 million," the chairman said. "For Utah as a whole, bond sales for the month were $2,072,057, bringing the total for the year to $21,589,079", he continued. "So far, 1967 sales are more than $1.7 million a-head a-head of 19G6 sales for the same period, and equal 83 per cent of the year's objective." "With the advent of the Christmas season," the chair-. chair-. man stated, ' sales will be in- creased by citizens buying Bonds as Christmas gifts. A-mong A-mong those who traditionally buy Bonds for Christmas gifts are parents and grandparents who give them to children to help in future education, a family gift to start building a nest egg for future emergencies, emergenc-ies, and companies which give Bonds to employees as holiday bonuses. |
