Show Money for Scouts Yield Good Return I "On my Honor I will do my Best." vvun uiis pieilge, every .Boy Scout commences nis J scouting experiences, tie is a mcmoer ot a movement that steps in at a time wnen individual in-dividual initiative, physical fitness and the building of character are more important than anything else in a boy's life. Civic leaders in all walks of life give eagerly and freely of their time to help Scouts, and, as a result, the boys respond with much valuable assistance, assis-tance, ranging from clothing drives and civil defense and conservation of resources to preparation for participating in community life as an effective, ef-fective, high caliber citizen. The phase of the Boy Scout Program that all of us can assist as-sist in, no matter what our work or available time, is at hand. Each year finds manyj fund drives underway for worthy causes, but, we feel, none is more important than the Boy Scout fund drive now in progress throughout the Utah National Parks Council. How much are you willing to invest in the future of the young men of Cedar City? This is the question being asked by the members of the Rotary Club who are conducting conduc-ting the annual finance drive for the Cedar Breaks District They are not asking for gifts as such, but are giving-citizens giving-citizens of this district the opportunity op-portunity to make an investment invest-ment in the character building build-ing program which scouting provides. The Cedar Breaks District's share of the Council budget this year is $5168. If the scout-ing scout-ing program had sufficient influence in-fluence on the life of but one boy to cause him to apply the principles of the Scout Oath and Law in all that he might undertake, the money will have been well spent. How-ever, How-ever, you have the opportunity to help not only one boy, but 779 others who are registered as Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts or Explorers and who are enjoying enjoy-ing the benefits of camping, leadership training, and advancement ad-vancement facilities which are provided by the Council. Money Mon-ey invested in Scouting will yield a good return in citizenship citizen-ship and leadership. |
