Show Living In The Escalante Valley part of the room carpeted, and a new chest of drawers. The Fifth and Sixth grades have a small area carpeted and new partitions added. Mrs. Fotheringham will be teaching in Cedar City North Elementary Elemen-tary School next year. The School Principal, Jack Walters, invited each parents and visitor to inspect the i the rooms at the school. Last year the recreation and exer- i cise room was remodeled for a Kindergarten room. The library li-brary room was carpeted and many new books have been added since last year. The , First and Fourth grades have I reminiced the exciting events of the past school year. They recalled making Easter eggs with balloons and paper macho. They changed these into musical shakers and performed per-formed a dance. Remember-ing Remember-ing that Deer Season time is always excitim; time at school, they were thrilled to make up their own ve-sion of Bambi land singing it for the aud I ience. Then they sang and 'da need what 1hey called ; "Healthy Land." The audience , enjoyed a marching number i led by Alisa 1'ot roe, and think-i think-i ing of their loyalty to our (country and the fighting men ' overseas; their final number . was singing and marching to ! the Green Beret." The class ( appreciated the support' and ! help of Raman Keyes, Lupe Casarez and Bessie Petree. The Third and Fourth grades gave two choral readings en-! en-! titled "Casey at the Bat" and j "Mr. Nobody." They sang a medly of French songs wliiWi ' were: "Dites, Moi, Le Coq, Al- louetta, Pammes, and Frere Ja."ues." They performed a i ! dance called "Sur Le Pont" - a French dance during which I the children immitated dif- I ferent people and things. Their . I final number was a dance 1 "How Do You Do My Partner", j Their teacher is Mrs. Foth- ! eringham. The Fifth and Sixth grades program was announced by Jimmy Butler. This group has a piccolo band, directed by Mr. Walters. They played four, numbers: "Peter, Peter, Tump- kin Eater," "Keep on Trying," "Our Land is a Glorious ! Land," and "The Marines Hymn." Jimmy Butler and ! Kelly Christen -en sang the I Marine Hymn. The group then 1 gave a nice performance of the play "Thirteen States Beside the Sea," narrated by Iio-anno Johnson. The last number was a polo dance which originated in the Philippine Islands. Each member of the Fifth and Six grades performed in the dance. Their teacher is Mr. Walters, Princapl of the school. The Parent and Teachers Association raffled off a quilt. The lucky winner was Jan Moyle. The PTA also presented Mrs. Fotheringham with a quilt in appreciation of her Carl Parrich ESCALANTE VALLEY GRADE SCHOOL Members of the sixth grade f Rscalante Valley School enjoyed en-joyed an outing at Veyo last Friday after school. The students stu-dents and lynchers enjoyed a picnic and a swim in the pool. The sponsors were Mrs. Carl Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Walters. Fourteen students graduat-rd graduat-rd Friday from the Escalante Valley School and will go into Junior'High next year. These students are: James Butler, Kelly Christensen, Dale Fair-clough; Fair-clough; Glen Helquist, Kevin Holt, Darla Hulet, Laureda II u lot, Lance Hunting, Kos-anne Kos-anne Johnson, Tracy Taylor, Larralne Kanosh, Bonnie Tul-lis, Tul-lis, Debra Woods, and Mark Wool soy. "SPRING FESTIVAL" Monday night the Escalante Valley School held their annual an-nual Spring Festival at the Community Building. The Kindergarten girls sang the son;; "Miss Polly Had a Dolly," and the boys sang a song entitled "Spot." The class then performed a dance and song entitled "Bingo." their teacher is Mrs. Dean Brown.
