Show Youth Council To Make Study of City's Curfew Laws Principal item of discussion at the meeting of the Cedar City Youth Council this month was the matter of Cedar City's curfew laws. On hand to discuss the curfew with members mem-bers of the council was City Manager Arnold Anderson, at the request of Mayor Loren Whetten. The council has been asked to study the law and to prepare pre-pare recommendations regarding regard-ing the law. The council also received a letter of resignation from Lonnie Ayers, who has left Cedar City as a result of a transfer with the Utah State Employment Security Office. Dub Leigh, chairman of the council, indicated that Ayers has been an outstanding worker, particularly in connection con-nection with the acquisition of work for the youth of the community. The council directed di-rected that a letter of thanks be sent to Mr. Ayers lor nis contribution over the past several sev-eral years. The remainder of the meeting meet-ing was turned into a report of committee activity. Pratt Bethers reported that Teen-Council had met on several sev-eral occasions and that several sever-al projects were being considered con-sidered by the youth group. Clifton Chatterly reported on the anti-tobacco committee, indicating that several films had been shown during the last month. It was reported that Chatterly, Chat-terly, in cooperation with Wallace Sjoblom of the Iron County Extension Service, had conducted a course in yard maintenance. Nine boys have completed the course and are now ready to do yard work for residents of the city.
