Show Cedar CityWomaa Publishes Fourth Child's Book A former Cedar City woman, wo-man, Mrs. Joyce Bowen Maug-han, Maug-han, now a resident of Mesa, Ariz., has recently had her fourth book published by th Deseret News Press in Salt Lake City. Principally of interest to youth the book is entitled! Volume 2 of 'Talks for Tots." The book is designed to make available material for youngsters of the LDS Church to use in making inspirational talks for church, Sunday School, and family home evenings. even-ings. At the front of the book, she has a few hints for the parents on how to help their children prepare their talks. Material is divided under headings which make it easy for the child to find what he wants. Mrs. Maughan, the former Joyce Bowen, spent her growing grow-ing up years in Cedar City, the? daughter of John H. and Sara Bowen. Two sisters, Zina (Mrs. Ross) Woolsey, and Idon;. (Mrs Wayne) Jackson, are well-known residents of Cedar City. Mrs. Maughan graduated! from Cedar High School in 1946 and attended College of Southern Utah, where she was president of Lambda Delta Sigma. She attended University Univer-sity of Utah, Brigham Young: University and received her B. S. degree from the University, of Idaho. She has done gradu-uate gradu-uate work at three Universities. Universi-ties. ther books by the author are: 'Talks for Tots, VoL I. "Talk Themes for Sub-Teens,"" and "Stories That Never Grow Old." She reports that she presently working on two-books two-books for teen-agers-She and her husband. Dear L. Maughan, have six children. |
